A striking, large-scale still life by Belgian artist Louisa Seghers, depicting an exuberant bouquet of white and vivid purple Irises, in a copper jug. Dating from the early 30’s, and painted with her characteristic expressive and confident brushwork, this painting is particularly striking in the flesh. The inky-green base contrasts with the gentle, peach backdrop, perfectly setting off the combination of deep purple and delicate white blooms.
Picture and frame in wonderful, ready to hang condition.
